Charlie Glasgow teaches guitar, bass, mandolin, dobro and ukulele. Charlie picked up the guitar and drums in 1966 after watching his older brothers play and knew this would be his life. He studied drums and guitar throughout the public school system and signed up for drum corps twice with the Flying Dutchmen out of Quincy, Illinois. He started teaching drums at a local shop 1972 and began teaching guitar in 1976 at the Quincy Fine Arts School which he also graduated from in 1977. He taught at shops in Kansas City and other small towns and attended Valley State University on a percussion scholarship. He has performed on the road as a guitarist, keyboardist and drummer throughout twenty five states and Canada before working as a sales associate and instructor at dietze Music in Omaha.
Charlie performs for nightclub shows and nursing homes with the Merry Makers Organization. His teaching styles for drums are simple and follow the Moeller technique. His guitar, dobro and bass technique follow basic theory, ear training and sight reading with an emphasis on improvisational skills and learning interesting songs from CDs. Classic Rock, Blues and Country fans will find his approach very appealing. Advanced soloing with finger tapping, sweep arpeggios as well as chicken picking can be fun and easy to learn.
