David Pearson has been teaching saxophone for 16 years, 14 of them at Dietze. He has also been employed at our downtown store for 12 years. David studied at UNL with Dr. Robert Fought and played in several ensembles while enrolled there. Primarily, David uses the Breeze Easy and Rubank methods in his studio, but his position at Dietze in the sheet music department has introduced him to many other publications which he incorporates. His main goal in teaching is to “teach someone how to play the saxophone, not a particular piece of music.” David lists among his musical influences Bob Mintzer, Maria Schneider, and Gordon Goodwin. In his spare time, David enjoys composing and arranging.
