A guitarist with extensive stage and studio experience performing Pop, Rock, Blues and Country. As lead guitarist...opened shows for Bon Jovi, Lynyrd Skynyrd, REO Speedwagon, Rascall Flatts, Johnny Winter and many others. As guitarist and/or mandolin player has been an integral part of several Omaha Entertainment Awards. Years teaching: 12 years. # of years at Dietz: 7 years (all at Bellevue) Instruments you play and # of years: Guitar – 25 years, Bass – 7 years, Mandolin – 15 years, Piano – 2 years, Harmonica – 15 years Education: Northeast Community College (Norfolk, NE), Guitar Performance Degree from Musicians Institute – Los Angeles, CA. Methods you use: Reading skills through books (Mel Bay, Berklee Press, etc.) plus lots of hand out material regarding improvisation, music theory and the songs/styles that the student is interested in. Teaching Philosophy / Educational Goals: I mainly want to teach how music can be a lifelong pursuit and to have fun with it through being positive and patient.
